SHRIMP AND GRITS WITH ANDOUILLE SAUSAGE

Tonight I become southern and I found some roots in this southern state and then I made shrimp & grits. Who loves this dish? Because this was one for the books, trust me.

I saw this delectable dish pop up on my beautiful friend Meghan’s instagram, and I immediately drooled and had to get the recipe.

And here it is.

I chose to use fresh shrimp from the HT counter but I think raw frozen shrimp can be just as good. You have to slightly cook the shrimp so either way it will be fine! The shrimp have a nice little marinade that give extra flavor to the meal. But everything just works as one together.

And the best bite you’re going to get is a little piece of shrimp, a spoonful of grits, and a half slice of andouille spicy sausage. That my friends is a little slice of heaven on a silver spoon, or fork.

Another fabulous attribute to this dinner was the white wine. I love anything with wine in it, such sophistication. But the sauce is white wine and cream based and it is seriously delectable. Mhmmm I’m sad it’s over.

The grits are cheesy grits and I made them super duper cheesy, because I am in love with cheese. There, I said it. I love cheese, at most times I have like 8 or 9 cheeses in my fridge. I need them all for different meals and I need them to switch up my eating. Mainly because I do not like to eat the same things over and over again.

AU does not support my cheese habit, unfortunately.

The main part of my post that I want to get through to you is that this is easy. You might see it in restaurants and think to yourself that you cannot make it, but let me tell you something, you can! And this is how.

As you can see this particular shrimp and grits is so yummy and looks like a bowl of New Orleans. This is New Orleans inspired and the spicy sausage and cajun seasoning really bring you around town.

So you can almost pop on over to NOLA and help yourself to a bowl of little shrimpies.

Enjoy this twist of an ambslovesfood blogpost.

And never hesitate to ask questions!
