RED WINE SANGRIA

Jump to recipe

With this wintry cold weather, there is nothing better than a sweet sparkling Red Wine Sangria.

I am a total lover and supporter of sangria, I love the fresh taste of fruit and
sparkling bubbles paired with a good bottle of wine.

The mixture of flavors when a sangria sits and muddles is literally the best part about this cocktail.

I love cocktails.

Sangria seems to a more popular drink in Summer but there is totally a need for a Winter sangria in my mind.

This recipe is made with a red muscadine wine so it’s not as heavy as some red
wine sangria that I have had before. Red wine is my go to for dinners, red
meats, and heavier foods so when I think sangria I think light and airy.

And that’s exactly what this drink is.

Welcome to your next mixed drink recipe for life, this Red Wine Sangria.

Muscadine wine is definitely an acquired taste, it’s very sweet like moscato wine but the grapes are super
sugary and delicious. I tend to prefer red muscadine wine and I was so happy with the way this recipe turned out.

Citrus flavors of lemon, lime, and orange juices muddle with the muscadine grapes perfectly and give this sangria life.

The trick to the perfect Red Wine Sangria is the order in which you add the ingredients together.
First is the red wine, citrus fruits, fruit juice, triple sec, and vodka.
Lastly, right before serving, you add in the fresh raspberries and ginger ale.

It keeps it’s sparkle and the raspberries don’t get mushy.

Perfection in a glass.

I chose to “spice” up this version of Red Wine Sangria with both triple sec and vodka. That’s what
makes this recipe so great is that you can customize it the way you want. You can make it lighter
and not add the triple sec or vodka or both. You can toss in blueberries, strawberries and even
blackberries for more fruit flavor. You could use a different red wine or even switch it up with white wine.

This is now my go to Sangria recipe!

Raise a glass for me when you make this!
